Our Moment
What a year we've had in Minnesota — what a six-year period.
The murder of George Floyd. The murder of the Speaker. Annunciation School. ICE. Trouble on the farm and in small towns. Trouble in suburbs. Trouble in the cities. And a hundred other troubles that didn't make the news.
“Let’s not be afraid or discouraged, but press on in our faith and gather to pray for Minnesota — and take action on what we hear God tell us.”
God cares about people.
God cares about place.
God cares about healing and justice.
The Minnesota Prayer Breakfast
exists to serve that mission.
An aspiration that starts with an invitation.
The Scriptures say Jesus traveled around and lamented that people were “harassed and helpless” — sounds like too many of our neighbors — then he said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
That’s why we’re gathering: to ask for Minnesota workers in many areas of need.
And — who knows? — we may be the workers we’re praying for.
